getting on with the next half of life

Divorce after 30 years of marriage calls for a certain number of adjustments. I believe I have survived the worst of it and I am staging a comeback. I'm hoping the next half of my life is rich, exciting and worthwhile. I'm open for change and hopefully some adventure,,,,let's see what happens!

This is my third attempt to resurrect this blog.  I have deleted the first two posts and am starting NEW!   I know enough about a computer to be dangerous.  Mostly I cannot remember how to get back to this very spot where I can compose, edit and manage this blog.  Keeping up with a blog is quite time consuming and like everyone else time is the very thing I struggle with the most.

I work anywhere from 48 - 55 hours each week and when I get home I'm toast.  I communicate in my job ALOT.  When the workday is done I am out of words.

Currently I'm laid up with a bum ankle.  I was in an auto accident in October '07, broke my ankle, had surgery, etc.  Two days ago I had to have another ankle surgery to remove the screws implanted during the first surgery,,,,,fun times!

It's probably a good thing I didn't know what this second surgery would entail or I might never have consented to it.  I thought I would be on crutches a day or two tops!  Try 10 days give or take a week.  I live alone in a two-story house,,,,,my bedroom is upstairs.  I wish I could hire someone to just 'fetch' things for me.  I am all about a cup of coffee and the newspaper in the morning when I wake up.  Not so fast!  I can't carry anything on these darn crutches,,,,,,my backpack is my new best friend.

Have I mentioned the lovely compression hosiery that I must wear on my good leg?  No?  Well, it is worn to prevent blood clots from forming and traveling around my body and getting lodged in places they don't belong.  These hosiery are not made in sizes, they are pretty much one size fits a tall, skinny model.  It is safe to say that I am on the shortish side and I could pull this hose up to my arm pit.  If you have every worn hose, you know there is no folding down a hose,,,,,,they roll.  I know that blood clots are a huge concern and usually result in death, but this hose tends to gather around my knee in tourniquet-fashion which may result in the loss of my right leg.  You know what 'they' say,,,,,,life is all about choices.

Check back with me again as I promise to try to post once or twice a week.  I really do need to publish some of my work experiences.  I work in a grocery story where some pretty mind boggling things occur.

Ta-ta for now
